If you are a freelancer who is receiving payments for worked projects from overseas clients through Payoneer, did you know that you can receive and withdraw your Payoneer balance through Gcash?
Yes, you read that right. Gcash, a popular virtual wallet that we use for paying bills and doing bank fund transfers can also be used to receive overseas funds.
What is Payoneer?
Payoneer is a global payment solution that allows freelancers and businesses across the globe to pay and get paid for goods and services rendered.
How do I Open a Payoneer Account?
You can open a Payoneer account by signing up through the Payoneer website, or create one straight from the Gcash app. Note that you have to wait for your account to be approved and to be able to link it to your Gcash account.
You can either use your Gcash details as your sign-up details or use a different set of credentials. Pick from the two options
- Log in to your Gcash app.
- Tap Cash in.
- Scroll down to the bottom and look for the Payoneer icon. Tap the icon and a pop-up message will ask you to either link your account or do it later. Tap Link Account.
- Tap Create An Account at the bottom of the screen.
- You are given the option to either use your Gcash details to pre-fill the sign-up form or create an account using a different set of credentials you prefer. if you use the former, all the fields will be pre-filled, if you choose the latter, you have to enter all the details manually. Complete this process. Note that it will ask you for your ID details, specifically your Social Security Number.

A confirmation screen will appear. Wait for at least three business days for Payoneer to review your application.
A confirmation email will be sent to your registered email address. You can also download the Payoneer app for iOS or Android mobile devices or log in to the Payoneer website to check the status of your application.
Once your account has been approved, you can use your sign-in details to link your Payoneer account to your Gcash Account.
