It has been so many months since I stopped using Dr. Alvin’s Rejuvenating and Maintenance set to fight against the regular nuisance on my face. And now, I am at it… AGAIN. I enjoyed a couple of months of a pimple-free face, thanks to the rejuve set. But I can now attest that I am really a pimple-magnet. Haha! I envy those who do not need to use anything to take good care of their faces.
Took me quite a while to find a legitimate reseller of Dr. Alvin skin care products. I found one at the LG Plaza/Robinsons Supermarket at Ortigas Ext., Pasig. I inquired about the rejuve set but looks like the skincare set is best-selling among all products as the seller told me it’s sold out and new supply has yet to arrive.
She suggested another set, though, the Kojic Acid Facial Set. Basically, when we hear “Kojic”, we associate it with whitening. Miss seller said the Kojic set is the alternative for the rejuvenating set. For the price of 350 pesos, I get a kojic toner, kojic bar soap, sunblock, and kojic acid cream tubes.
I am not familiar with how it will react to my skin once it’s applied, so I asked Miss Seller what is the expected initial effect of it once used:
– micro peeling
– it will not be as stringent as the rejuve set, but a mild redness will manifest.
Side note: Miss Seller offered me the anti-acne (Glycolic) soap, in place of the kojic soap, but I decided to get both. The soap is priced at 70pesos.
I have yet to use the entire set as it is. At present, I am washing my face with an organic anti-acne soap I bought from Zaine skin, and then I apply the toner and kojic acid cream.
EDIT: 11/22/2016 I just started using it today, check out my first-day review.
EDIT: 12/20/2016 The Kojic Acid facial Set is the alternative to the rejuvenating set as the latter is currently unavailable in the market. The seller told me that a new formula is being developed for the rejuve set and will be relaunched next year.
